Sustainable cost reductions: biogas from liquid wastes

Treating liquid wastes and wastewater to generate biogas is an interesting alternative to conventional wastewater treatment and disposal for dairies. This is becoming a serious consideration for the future for milk producers given the globally increasing challenges arising from wastewater regulations or CO2 guidelines.

We apply the Envochem® plants for the treatment of process water, wastewater and water circulation.
Typical applications for the customised plants are: Removal of heavy metals or metals, detoxification or emulsion splitting of process water. We use the following processes for these applications, either separately or combined: precipitation/flocculation/sedimentation, neutralisation, activated charcoal adsorption, oxidation with UV or ozone.

The Flomar® series of dissolved air flotation plants is designed for general industrial applications and has a highly effective air saturation system with self-cleaning de-aeration valves.
To eliminate impurities from wastewater, emulsion splitting or flocculation/precipitation must usually be carried out prior to the actual flotation process. In the Flomar® system, a return flow is saturated with air under pressure, released and mixed with the pre-treated wastewater.

The wastewater treatment plants have been in use in a wide range of industrial and commercial applications for more than 40 years. All product types in the series automate and visualize the treatment process. Various types are available to treat batch volumes of between 200 and 1,500 litres. The pre-assembled plants with their plug&play design can be quickly connected and commissioned at a customer's site.

Dissolved air flotation plants for the treatment of industrial wastewater. The Lugan® flotation plants treat wastewater resulting from wash processes, for instance from the wash stations of vehicles. After a pretreatment in a separation plant they remove emulgated oils and fats as well as heavy metals.

We use the appropriate process selected from our large range of Biomar® processes, depending on the composition of the wastewater and the required cleaning results.
